Monk Energy+ weapons
I'm sure there must be a thread for this out there somewhere, but i haven't found it yet (and yes, i have used the search :P). So: can anyone tell me about energy bonuses on monk weapons please?
My experience of these comes from being an elementalist, where i seemed to have a choice - have a staff, which would usually come with an energy bonus, or have a wand and then a 'left-hand' item that would have the energy bonus instead. For both, the max i had ever seen was +12, with (if you have the money) a possible upgrade (ie staff head) of +5. Atm, that is the route i have gone down with my new monk - i have a basic rod, and then a left-hand item with +11 energy. This gives me 41 in total, yet i have seen monks with 60 or more energy. With the right armour ( the stuff that looks like tatoos) i could up my energy to about 50 (assuming i can somehow get enough rolls of parchment ), but how on earth could i get to 60+?? The only assumption i can make is that there are monk weapons, or left hand items that have a greater energy bonus than +12, or upgrades with a greater bonus than +5. Is this right? Are they expensive? If not, what can i do - it's gonna be a while before i can get the mesmer elite for nicking energy from enemies (forget what it's called) and energy tap without a lot more points than i want to put into inspiration just sucks. Thanks for any help |

It's possible.
Use the tatoo armour, and a rod that has a +energy bonus, and a left hand item with energy bonus. I've had it before on my pvp monk. It is possible. Best Regards, Ashleigh. |

Without giving up any regen rate, a monk can get up to 54 energy while wearing the ascetics armor.
There are collector foci that give 27 energy instead of 12 (+12 energy normally and +15 energy/-1 energy regen mod which come associated), but it costs 1 energy regen pip. In addition, there are holy/divine/smiting rods that can be found that give up to another 15 energy and come at cost of another pip in energy. |

I have a gold healing rod that gives +5 energy (+5 is max) - I used to have a +3 rod.
I think that's what you're asking. Yes, they're extremely rare. No, it's not for sale. Last edited by Xue Yi Liang; Sep 01, 2005 at 10:35 PM // 22:35.. |

I only use this weapon set if I need the extra energy |

its not that hard to get up to sixty
all classes start with 20 base energy normal armor (wanders or sacred/saintly on a monk) usually gives you 10 more Energy Bonus armor (tattos) gives you an additional 7 without an energy regen penalty you can use the following items for max energy: Staff (10 base energy) with +5 insightful head for +15 (52 energy) +5 energy wand + +12 focus for +17 (54 energy) denravi sword (+5 energy) + +12 focus for 17 (54 energy) if you want regen penalty you can use the following items +15 energy -1 regen wand and +27 -1 regen focus (79 energy) (you would only have 2 regen so dont use it except for a quick swap for energy) Last edited by OrangeArrow; Sep 02, 2005 at 09:51 PM // 21:51.. |

I have 50 energy on my monk with a staff. It has the standard +10 energy on it, with an insightful head that's +4 energy and 19% longer enchant on the other part, and I wear the ascetic tatoos. If I can fight a longer enchant sword piece, I'll get the sword at Denravi that has the +5 energy, but until then I'm happy with my staff.

I have heard there is a collector some where in the jungle area that has a sword with +5 eng mod but have never seen this sword or found this collector so I do not know if it is true or if is is just in game chat bs.
If true though it would make a great smite monk sword. |

I'm 90% sure there is a sword with a +5 energy mod, and it was mentioned in another thread, but I don't know where to get it.
